Music in the Treatment of Mental Illness

چکیده

Psychiatry today is concerned with the treatment of the whole person. Of necessity therefore, it draws not only on medical knowledge but also on history, the social sciences, philosophy, religion and the arts?in fact it ranges over the whole of human experience. In any attempt, however modest, to discover what the arts?particularly music?may contribute to psychotherapeutic techniques, some mention of past endeavours must be made.
